Explored Flickr using the Intrestingness option. I figured it would be an easy way to see some really cool photos. I chose the picture of the gummi bears because it reminded me of the German teacher at my school who recently passed away. She always gave gummi bears as prizes.
When thinking about using Flickr, I wonder what is the benefit/difference than just sending pictures via e-mail to family and friends? I suppose I could set up a Flickr site and upload pictures of library events, then link the Flickr page to my library website. A thought. . . .
Still feel weird have my uncomfortable "out there." I think you can make your Flickr site private?

WEEK #2 THING #3
I enjoyed reading the 7 1/2 habits of lifelong learners. I consider myself a lifelong learner having gone back to graduate school at age 38.
The habit that I consider easiest to follow is to accept responsibility for my own learning. I am only going to get out of this course as much as I put into it. I want to learn these new technologies and am committed to doing so.
The habit that I find hardest to follow is having confidence in myself when it comes to technology. I enjoy using it personally, but have not made to leap to incorporating it into my library as much as I should or encouraging and teaching others what I know and helping them use technology in their classrooms.
